ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A now-former employee of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center will spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a minor, according to prosecutors.

On Monday, Samuel “Ray” Ham pleaded guilty to four counts of child molestation, three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of grooming a minor for a sexual offense, said Randy McGinley, the Walton County district attorney, in a press release Wednesday.

The judge sentenced Ham, 59, of Loganville, to 20 years in prison without parole, followed by life on probation.

McGinley said “numerous supporters of the victim” attended the plea hearing Monday, during which victim impact statements were read.
