NEW ORLEANS — Entergy Louisiana has received the green light to move forward with its plan to power Meta's massive $10 billion data center in North Louisiana. The Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC), the body that regulates the utility, voted 4-1 on Wednesday to approve an agreement between Entergy Louisiana and the tech giant. Commissioner Davante Lewis voted no.
The controversial plan includes the construction of three new natural gas power plants: two in Richland Parish and one in St. Charles Parish. The decision comes as construction is already underway on Meta's AI data center in Richland Parish.
