HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. -- Police have arrested a Hancock County man accused of touching a minor inappropriately.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Hancock County Sheriff's Department on Monday, Michael Deemer has been preliminarily charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, which is a level 5 felony.

According to court documents, an investigation was launched on July 10 when police were contacted by the victim, who stated that they were ready to move forward with the investigation.

Throughout their investigation, police investigated allegations that Deemer had inappropriately touched the victim when they were 14 years old. The victim accused Deemer of touching them in a sexually explicit manner when their mother was out of the country for a busi
