INDIANAPOLIS – Everything finally fell into place for Xavien Howard.
And that includes the first team he’ll face as the Indianapolis Colts’ newest cornerback.
That would be the Miami Dolphins, who visit Lucas Oil Stadium on Sept. 7.
Howard laughed.
"I’ve been talking to Lou for a little minute," he said on Wednesday." So, I already knew who was week 1 and I was preparing for it this offseason.
"I’m ready to go."
Howard was a second-round pick of Miami in 2016 and spent eight seasons building an impressive resume: four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro selections, including a first-team nod in 2020 when he led the NFL with 10 interceptions and 20 passes defended. He also led the league with seven interceptions in 2018.
