INDIANAPOLIS — We're getting a first look at the new $2.2 million dollar home for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Mounted Patrol unit.
The facility offers modern offices and locker rooms for officers plus 13 stalls and stables for the horses.
There's also a riding arena.
"The fact that we have bright lights and we can see our working conditions, we have the ability we have larger stalls for the horses. We have therapeutic stalls that are conducive to them being able to rest and relax when they're not out on patrol. And then also the fact that we have an attached riding arena is absolutely amazing, the fact that we can come out here on a regular basis and train the horses both from the saddle and from the ground, which is very important," said Sgt. Gregory Kessie.
