LEWISBURG — Supervisors in East Buffalo Township will rebid the construction contract for the new bridge over Turtle Creek.

At a special meeting Wednesday, the township supervisors rejected the bids for the construction of an 8-foot reinforced concrete bridge deck and associated parapet. The damaged bridge on Turtle Creek Road shifted off its foundation during a severe storm in August 2023.

A fifth beam is needed to accommodate tractor-trailer traffic under PennDOT requirements.

"An extra beam had to be added because of the very short depth of the beams," construction engineer Jason Snyder, of ETA Inc., said.
