PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An 88-year-old woman who had a “bucket list” wish to visit all 50 states completed her goal with a two day trip in Rhode Island.

Gerda McCoy visited the state as a way to finish the trip she started with her husband George in 1987, though he was only able to visit 49 before his death in 2015.

McCoy’s caregivers at the assisted living facility she lives in said that she was donated a stay at the Marriott Courtyard by the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau.

They added that during her trip she dined at Hemenway’s, took a tour of Providence with Experience Rhode Island, received a voucher to take a ride with Providence River Boat Company, and was given a tour of the State House.
