WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita community is mourning the loss of a beloved pastor, Bishop Mark L. Gilkey, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 66.

For many years, Gilkey served as the senior pastor of St. Mark Cathedral Church of God in Christ. Those who knew him said that he leaves behind more than just his ministry; he leaves behind a lasting legacy.

During the past year and a half, Gilkey had been receiving treatment at a medical center in Oklahoma for ongoing health issues. His congregation expressed that his warmth and uplifting spirit will continue to resonate within the community.
