TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Jill Wax is a staple in Ybor City. She not only owns La France vintage clothing store, but she also lives right above it.

“We can turn down our music, so just the people who are in front of our business hears our music,” Wax said.

The longtime shop owner and resident is responding to the City of Tampa studying noise in places like Ybor, Downtown, Channelside and South Howard.

“I don't want to have people suffer from our decisions. I don't know how to make a difference without having somebody suffer from it,” Wax said.

Although Wax would like to see the volume being checked a bit more in Ybor, she understands that any change could possibly harm business and there will be push back.
