LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- What's being described as a traffic nightmare near a Henderson charter school is getting the attention of city officials.

Parents of students who attend Pinecrest Academy Horizon said they're frustrated with the traffic situation, which was exacerbated this week.

"It's a terrible experience for anybody attending the school, for the children," Kevin Morris said.

Pinecrest Academy Horizon is located near Boulder Highway and Racetrack Road. Picking up and dropping off children for the approximately 900 families enrolled in the school has turned into a hassle.

"I think the average for us has been about 45 minutes," Morris said. "It's kind of a bottleneck to the school. It's just a two-lane road, and then to exit, given the construction on Boulder Highway, it's one lane,
