SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — As students return to classrooms this fall, local clinics are seeing an increase in patients. COVID-19, flu, and other seasonal illnesses are starting to spread, and doctors say families should be prepared.
Dr. Josiah Ward of La Esperanza Clinic says the start of the school year creates a mix of students returning and parents back at work, which often leads to more infections.
“We are seeing an uptick of COVID infections, still seeing some of the summer bugs, the GI infections, and pink eye. Likely as school is starting, we're going to start seeing more cases of the common cold and upper respiratory symptoms. We're all preparing for the RSV and Flu to come this fall,” Ward said.
