JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) -- Police are still investigating a deadly crash in Ingham County that killed Jeffrey Wendt, 53, of Mason, on Monday.
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office says Wendt was traveling eastbound on Howell Rd. and failed to stop at a stop sign at M-52. His vehicle crashed into a semi-truck, leading to him being pinned underneath it. Wendt died on the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, a 23-year-old man from Perry, was uninjured.
"There was a semi traveling southbound and there's no stop sign there southbound…and there's a stop sign eastbound Howell at M-52 and that vehicle just ran the stop sign," said Captain of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Andrew Daenzer.
Daenzer says the crash is still under investigation, but sunlight could have contributed to the crash.
