LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan legislature has so far failed to pass a budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Democratic leadership is pointing the blame at the Michigan GOP.

Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks says House Republicans are pushing the state toward a point of irreparable harm.

Senate Democrats say they've passed a comprehensive and collaborative budget proposal back in May that would have lowered costs and ensured access to vital services and programs Michiganders rely on.

In contrast, they claim House Republicans have failed to pass a complete budget proposal, along with 49 other bills that were unanimously passed, with bi-partisan support, by the state Senate.
