MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Just days after stepping down from his role, former Mariposa County District Attorney Michael McAfee is facing serious allegations that could have far-reaching legal consequences.

According to a report from the Mariposa Gazette , a Merced man claims he sold methamphetamine to McAfee on multiple occasions.

The explosive allegation comes shortly after McAfee's abrupt resignation , which followed a closed-door meeting by the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors last Monday.

The board cited "personnel matters" but did not disclose specifics.

In the wake of McAfee's departure, Walter Wall, who previously served as DA before becoming County Counsel, has been reappointed to the position.
