MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Flames ripped through a detached garage Wednesday afternoon in Janesville, leaving it completely destroyed, officials reported.
According to the Janesville Fire Department, 19 firefighters responded to the detached garage fire just before 2 p.m. in the 3900 block of County Road D.
When crews arrived at the fire, officials said the fire was threatening to spread to the house in front of it.
Firefighters used two hoselines to put out the fire and to cool the melted siding of the home.
Janesville officials said the home sustained heat damage, but the family is able to stay there.
No one was hurt and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Footville Fire Department and Rock County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the fire.
