PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (ABC22/FOX44) - New York state Rep. Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay) announced his resignation last month, but he is still serving in the New York assembly until August 31, and Governor Kathy Hochul has not yet called a special election. However, the number of candidates is growing in the race to replace him.
Brent Davison, the commander of the New York State Police's Troop B headquartered in Ray Brook, was endorsed by Clinton County Republican Committee chair Jerika Manning on Wednesday. Davison formerly served in the U.S. Army as well as the Vermont National Guard.
"Brent has taken the concept of public service to its highest levels, leading with integrity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the North Country," wrote Manning on social media.
