DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - Animal shelters throughout the county are dealing with overcrowded spaces that are preventing them from helping many of our furry friends.
Homeward Trails Animal Rescue in Danville is calling on people in the area to step up to be temporary fosters.
HTAR’s foster and diversion programs are designed to keep pets out of the shelter and in a home where they thrive best until they are able to be adopted.
For an area that has few shelter options, this program could help relieve some of the pressure they have.
“Danville hasn’t had traditionally another rescue option or a lot of rescue options to work with the shelter, so we’re hoping to come in and be able to pull from the transfer animals from the shelter into our care,” Program Director Robin Young said
