SHAVERTOWN, Pa. — For the first time ever, the Wyoming Valley Challenger Little League team has been selected to play in the Little League World Series Challenger Division. To properly celebrate, the Shavertown Fire Department hosted a sendoff for the team.

"When we have events like this, everyone's talking to them about it, so they're thinking about it a little bit more. I think once they get there, they're going to start to realize how big a day it's going to be,” said Jim Qualters, a coach for the Wyoming Valley Challenger Little League team.

It's a big day because only a select few teams get the chance to play in the Challenger Division.
