YOUNGSTOWN A scrap tire collection is coming to Youngstown for one day only, allowing Mahoning County residents to get rid of some scrap tires.

The collection is open to Mahoning County residents only on October 4, 2025.

The event will take place on October 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Covelli Centre, located at 229 East Front Street in Youngstown. An ID is required.

Passenger tires will be accepted at the collection, but commercial, business, agriculture and semi-truck tires will not be accepted.

Tires with rims will also not be accepted.

The collection is listed as cash only, with 50 cents for each tire.

It is noted on a flyer advertising the event that it is illegal to transport more than nine tires without proper registration with the state.
