CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) - Glenwood High School earned some impressive rankings to solidify itself as the top high school in the Springfield area.

The Ball-Chatham School District shared the results of the U.S. News & World Report Best High School rankings, which rated GHS as the 105th best in Illinois.

That mark places the school in the top 6% of all high schools statewide.

GHS is in the top 10% of all high schools in the country, according to the district's Aug. 20 press release.

The report also had GHS earning rankings, including No. 88 in state assessment proficiency and No. 102 in the college curriculum breadth index, along with graduation rates.
