ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WITN) - With Hurricane Erin brushing close to coastal towns here in the east, some people are preparing while others are enjoying the breezy weather.
On Wednesday evening, locals and tourists came out to Atlantic Beach, with many putting their feet in the water and taking pictures of the high tide waves.
With red flag warnings, warning people not to swim in the water, people enjoyed the beach in their own way.
“It’s incredible,” Chris Onderdonk-Milne, a tourist visiting from Virginia said. “The waves are coming up and they’re not all uniform either. Some people are getting close to the water and the next wave will go three feet higher than the last one so it’s pretty cool.”
