Two meetings are set in September for the cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk to share information about a proposed adjustment to the city line in the Pughsville area.

The proposed change would transfer 12 undeveloped parcels from Chesapeake to Suffolk. No existing residents or businesses would be affected.

If it goes through, the proposal would resolve long-standing uncertainty about the precise location of the border in the Pughsville area. Officials have relied on a working boundary for years, but a recent agreement to clarify the boundary would shift the dozen lots from Chesapeake into Suffolk.

City officials say the affected property owners have been contacted directly. The lots include one near the intersection of Bute and Bromay streets and 11 near Norfolk Street and Townpoint Roa
