JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A Janesville man has been sentenced for child sexual assault.

42-year-old Brandon Stevens will serve ten years behind bars and then have eight years of extended supervision.

Stevens was found guilty of 1st degree sexual assault of a child.

The Rock County District Attorney's office says Stevens' teenage daughter came forward in 2023 to report that her father had molested her about five years earlier.

A detective was able to corroborate what she reported.

Instead of a jury trial, Stevens waived the right to jury and asked a judge to hear the evidence and decide whether he was guilty.

After two days of trial, judge Ashley Morse concluded that there was enough evidence that she was convinced there were no reasonable doubt as to whether Stevens was guilty of sexually
