COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WKOW) — A proposed sports complex in Cottage Grove has faced a setback after being pitched as a potential game-changer for the community.

A tie vote of 3-3 by the Cottage Grove Village Board in early August halted progress on the proposed indoor-outdoor sports complex. Village president Cynthia Kelm-Nelson said the private project would benefit the community without burdening taxpayers.

"It's not receiving incentives. That is... that is the gold star of development," said Kelm-Nelson.

Board members have expressed concerns, particularly about traffic.
