EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Our Touchdown Live football previews continue, as we head over to Mater Dei. In case you hadn’t heard, there’s a big change on the sideline, as the legend, Mike Goebel, retired after last year, and in steps, longtime assistant, Cody Hess.

Hess grew up in the program, playing running back, and helping the Cats go to state, in 2011, so he knows what it means, to wear the red and gold. Now, after a long, hot summer of practice, he’s excited to get out there, and coach his first game, for his alma mater.

Mater Dei has a solid number of returning veterans, notably, on offense, where senior quarterback Tate Mallory and senior receiver Nolan Schickel are back.
