GREENVILLE county, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Food trucks in Greenville County may soon face stricter regulations.
On Monday night, the Planning and Development Committee passed an ordinance with rules they say are meant to protect both employees and customers.
“As of right now, there are no rules. We looked at it last year and kind of kicked the can down the road,” said Councilman Ennis Fant, District 25.
Currently, the City of Greenville has stricter food truck regulations than Greenville County.
Fant said some food trucks are taking advantage of the lack of rules, which is why he wants to implement what he calls “common-sense regulations.”
