The Jets have made a pair of trades to try and bolster their defensive tackle spot.

Harrison Phillips has been acquired from the Minnesota Vikings for a late round pick and a late round pick swap.

Minnesota will pick up part of his salary.

The Jets have also added Jowon Briggs and a seventh round pick in exchange for a sixth round pick.

Of the two, at least on paper the addition of Harrison seems like the bigger deal. He has 62 starts in the NFL and has been a solid run stopper in the past. Briggs is a recent seventh round pick who played 133 snaps as a rookie bouncing between the practice squad and the active roster.
