Plans are being drawn up for another high-rise tower within spitting distance of Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop.
The location is 10-12 Whitworth Street West, a currently empty plot situated directly across the road from Deansgate Locks and next to the City Road Inn.
Last year the plot was acquired by Tri7 for £16 million, with Tri7 since becoming a part of Fusion, and initial plans were drawn up to build a £125 million 35-storey tower containing 327 flats.
Since taking over the project Fusion has altered the plans to instead focus on student housing, with the new design being a 38-storey tower containing 826 student apartments.
