Armadale Thistle boss Colin Strickland was pleased with his side’s showing despite crashing out of the South Challenge Cup at the first hurdle to Civil Service Strollers.
The East of Scotland First Division side fought out a five-goal thriller at Christie Gillies Park in Edinburgh but came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline in the round one tie.
Strollers play two tiers above Thistle in the pyramid, so Strickland says he can take a lot of heart from their showing.
He said: “They are a couple of levels above us but I thought we played well, especially in the first half. We deserved to be 1-0 up at half-time.
“They came at us in the second half, which we expected, and they scored pretty early.
