First Alert Forecast: Few afternoon storms today, as we end the work week a little unsettled

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Another opportunity for those who haven’t seen much this week to see a few showers and storms as we head through our Thursday afternoon.

We’ll start the morning off with a mix of sun and clouds, which will help to boost temperatures into the lower 90s heading into the afternoon.

Unlike our Wednesday, the amount of showers and storms for our afternoon and evening look to be a little more isolated with more areas staying dry than seeing storms.

Regardless, any area that does see storms developing will have to watch for heavy rainfall, gusty winds and frequent lightning.

Remember if you hear thunder roar, to head indoors to stay away from the profound lightning the storms have been producing.
