ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WFSB) - An early morning fire at Saybrook Fish House left one firefighter with a minor injury on Thursday.

According to officials, the call came in at 2:42 a.m. reporting a fire alarm at the restaurant.

Police officers were the first to arrive and observed smoke coming from the rear of the building.

Fire crews confirmed it was a working structure fire, with smoke originating from the rear utility room.

Crews quickly put out the flames, conducted overhaul operations to check for hot spots, and ventilated the building to clear remaining smoke.

One firefighter had a minor arm injury during the response and was sent to a local hospital for treatment.

The area around 2165 Silas Deane Highway has reopened, and fire apparatus was dismissed.
