NEW LONDON, Conn. (WFSB) - Ferry services between New London and Block Island have been cancelled due to sea conditions as Hurricane Erin approaches.

The Block Island Ferry announced that the 4:45 p.m. departure from New London and the 6:30 p.m. departure from Block Island on Wednesday, August 20, have been cancelled.

All departures for Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 have also been cancelled, citing expected weather and sea conditions caused by the storm’s track.

The company is closely monitoring Hurricane Erin’s progression and released the following service advisories:
