CHESHIRE, Conn. (WFSB) - More than 4,200 students in Cheshire went back to class earlier than usual this year, all in an effort to keep a major school construction project on schedule.
The district’s decision to move up the start date was tied to the ongoing construction of two brand-new elementary schools, Norton and Barnum, part of a multi-year plan to modernize Cheshire’s aging school buildings.
According to Superintendent Jeff Solan, the early return is intended to minimize disruptions for students and keep construction crews on track.
