A 14-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of arson after fire devastated a Grade I listed former manor house.
The blaze tore through historic Woolton Hall on August 19, leaving the building on Speke Road a shell.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) arrived at the scene at around 8pm and worked through the night to bring the flames under control, the Liverpool ECHO reports .
As a result of the fire the roof collapsed into the building, and a large cordon was set up around the grounds, with nine fire engines battling the blaze by 11.30pm and people advised to avoid the area.
