German federal prosecutors said a Ukrainian national suspected of coordinating a group of saboteurs who in September 2022 blew up the Nord Stream pipelines that transport Russian gas to Europe has been detained in Italy.

The man, named as Serhii K., was arrested by Italian police in Rimini overnight into Thursday, August 21, the prosecutor's office said. He is facing charges of causing an explosion, sabotage, and the destruction of infrastructure.
