WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The 40th annual Winterville Watermelon Festival starts tonight.

As vendors prepare for the exciting time, local businesses are also gearing up for an influx of customers.

Thursday night kicks off the festival with a cruise-in car show and amusement rides! Ride wristbands will be available for $25.

As many people from across the East and beyond make their way to Winterville for the annual festival of fun, businesses say they look forward to seeing the community come together for a good time.
