Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred reiterated that Our National Pastime will likely expand with two more major league teams.
During an appearance during the Little League Classic telecast Sunday night, Manfred said he hoped the details will be known before his term ends in 2029.
Between now and then, the owners and players will have to bargain a new collective bargaining agreement and MLB will negotiate new national media deals.
“Those teams won't be playing by the time I'm done but I would like the process along and [cities] selected,” Manfred said.
Expansion could trigger realignment to promote rivalries and reduce travel.
