An English tourist was fighting for his life after violence erupted in Dublin city centre.
The man, who is in his 40s, was attacked near Temple Bar during the early hours of this morning.
He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The Irish Mirror reports the victim was visiting Ireland on holiday.
He was allegedly kicked in the head after getting into an altercation with another man near the Centra in Temple Bar Square, the publication has said.
Gardai were called to the scene at around 12.30am.
The force has now urged witnesses, or anyone who with information on the incident, to get in touch.
