A resident of the asylum hotel at the heart of heated anti-migrant protests has made a plea for the demonstrations to cease, following an order from the Home Office to limit their stay.

Khadar Mohamed, 24, disclosed that those holed up inside the Bell Hotel in Epping were 'living in pain and fear' each time locals staged protests outside the hotel, adding to their uncertainty about their futures.

Mr Mohamed, who claimed he had won his political asylum case against the Home Office, stated: "I want everybody to know that there are no paedophiles and rapists living inside this hotel.
