SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Valley highs are forecast to tie or break records today as afternoon temperatures climb into triple-digit territory.
Highs in the valley are expected to top out near 103, with temperatures climbing even higher on Friday afternoon. Thursday’s highs in the foothills will approach 100, while top temperatures in the Sierra will be near 90 degrees.
Thursday’s daily record high for Sacramento is 103, set back in 1969. We will likely tie this record. In Stockton, temperatures are expected to set a new record, exceeding the current mark of 102, also set in 1969. Modesto’s daily record high, also from 1969 at 101, will likely be broken today.
