Grumpy's owner Pete Prekeges has announced that he will run for mayor of Ketchum in November's election.

The candidate filing period began Monday and ends Friday, Aug. 29. Candidates must gather five signatures from eligible voters and pay a $40 filing fee in order to run for office. Prospective candidates can learn more by visiting the Blaine County Elections Office website at co.blaine.id.us/196/Elections .

Current Mayor Neil Bradshaw announced in May that he would not seek a third term this fall.

Prekeges, a founder of the Ketchum Business Advisory Coalition, said in an interview with the Express that he decided to run for mayor after witnessing the construction project on Main Street.
