The Blaine County Housing Authority has filed a lawsuit in 5th District Court alleging that Ketchum property owner Benjamin Franz has failed to abide by a deed-restriction agreement with the city of Ketchum by failing to rent a workforce housing unit governed by the agreement to a BCHA-qualified tenant.

Franz has disputed the allegations in court, stating that he has been making a reasonable effort to rent the unit.

Fifth District Judge Reed Cotten is expected to issue a ruling on the case in the coming days.

According to written court minutes and recorded audio from a trial in the case, Franz stated that Destination Dentistry LLC is the owner of the unit. Franz owns Destination Dentistry LLC, and Destination Dentistry has owned the unit since 2020. In that period, no tenant has been ap
