SOUTH BLOOMFIELD – A long-vacant gas station on the corner of U.S. 23 and State Route 316 is getting new life. EagleStores, a rapidly growing convenience store chain, has announced plans to renovate the property at 5023 North Walnut Street with the goal of opening in 2026.

The site, once home to a Stop and Shop, has sat empty for years. EagleStores confirmed that renovation work is already underway.

Founded in Monroe, Ohio, in the late 1990s, EagleStores has steadily expanded across the state. The company formally launched under its current brand name in 2023 and has quickly gained a reputation for clean stores, friendly service, and a wide selection of everyday items.
