MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A motorcycle accident early Thursday morning has left one man dead and temporarily closed a busy highway ramp.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 7:11 a.m. on August 21, on I-85 South near mile marker 48, close to the I-485 interchange in northeast Mecklenburg County.
NC State Highway Patrol confirmed with Queen City News that a white male was killed in the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
The ramp to I-485 Inner was temporarily closed on Thursday. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes during the morning commute. The area reopened just after 10 a.m.
NC State Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
