OMAHA, Neb. —

Nineties and 2000s alternative rock will come to the metro Sept. 5 for the Shadow Ridge Music Festival . Founder Justin Shanahan joined KETV FirstNews to discuss this year’s headliners, the importance of being local and independent, and how the event supports a special cause.

"We started in 2018, it just continues to grow," Shanahan said. "The support we get from our community is just amazing."

The festival will feature Bush, Lit, The Fray and Fuel.

"These are all bands that are going to take you back to high school, college days," Shanahan said. "The nostalgic component is incredible."

A portion of each ticket sold will benefit the Lane Thomas Foundation . Since its launch, the festival has raised more than $30,000 for the foundation.
