HARTFORD, Conn. — It's some friendly competition for a good cause; First responders in Hartford and Southington are squaring off to see who can bring in the better blood drive turnout.

Local law enforcement, their families, and friends all came together in Hartford on Thursday to both donate and support the American Red Cross.

Jocelyn Hillard with the American Red Cross told FOX61 that while raising blood stockpiles is the ultimate goal, it’s all about the camaraderie and support from the community that makes this event special.
