HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKDZ) – An ice cream van driver is facing charges following a reported hit-and-run crash on Tuesday afternoon.

According to WKDZ, Hopkinsville police say 35-year-old Sean Chandler walked into the roadway on Rodney Drive to attempt to get the attention of an ice cream van driver.

Authorities say Chandler was trying to get the attention of 52-year-old Travis Scott of Clarksville to tell him to “stop cursing at the kids and slow down.”

Police say Chandler was hit by Scott’s ice cream van.

Chandler was transported to the hospital by Hopkinsville EMS for injuries and a medical problem after the crash.

WKDZ reports Scott drove away from the scene and later turned himself in to law enforcement.
