ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A scheduled court hearing for the man accused of hitting a South Carolina state trooper with a box truck is being postponed.

WIS has learned that Thursday’s hearing for 45-year-old Anthony Aydlette, of Hanahan, was continued until Sept. 4. Aydlette was arrested and charged with driving under suspension after a crash that involved SCHP Trooper Dennis Ricks.

Aydlette allegedly hit Ricks on Aug. 10 after the latter completed a traffic stop along Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County. Ricks died in a hospital days later.

Aydlette was granted bond after his arrest for driving under suspension. He was also ordered to wear an ankle monitor and was prohibited from leaving the state.
