LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has given its final approval to the Louisville Metro Housing Authority to demolish Dosker Manor.

Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville and LMHA Executive Director Elizabeth Strojan announced the decision Thursday.

LMHA started moving Dosker Manor’s 574 residents voluntarily in July 2024 because of the unsafe living conditions at the building. With HUD’s final approval, the relocations will now be mandatory. According to a news release from the mayor’s office, fewer than 160 residents still live at Dosker Manor.
