Meadows Golf Course in Blue Island provides a serenity that is thousands of miles and a lifetime away from the battle that was the Iraq War and the mission that changed Sergio Lopez forever.
In 2006, Lopez had just signed up for his second tour of duty. His vehicle was struck by an IED. His life was saved but he lost his legs.
Back in the States, like many wounded vets, Lopez had to get on with his next mission: Navigating civilian life as a disabled veteran.
